LOS ANGELES
Guido will take you to his favorite shooting locations and show you what photography is all about. In a circle of a maximum of 12 participants, Gu ido explains his approach from AZ: set construction, light, interaction and guidance of the model. Afterwards, all participants have the opportunity to shoot perfect photos of our dreamlike models in the set.
In addition to being in a good mood, you bring curiosity and a passion for photography with you. You don't have to be a professional - but you should already know and master your camera.
3 MODELS
who have made it their task to give everything and only the best on this tour. You will pose, be focused and charming, always giving the individual photographer full attention.
3 GROUPS
with a maximum of 4 participants. Each group will work and photograph with a make-up artist and a model. Each participant has time to photograph each model.
3 WIZARDS
Each group also has a German-speaking assistant who will help and answer any questions.
3 PROFESSIONAL HAIR & MAKE-UP ARTISTS
Each group also has a professional hair & make-up artist so that each photographer can focus on their model during their shoot.

We'll definitely be shooting again for 1-2 days with me and Eric in the studio in the desert, just like we'll definitely book a beach part in Malibu again for a day. Salton Sea will also be on the agenda.

Guido Karp Business Lecture Event 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Guido Karp is not only one of the leading concert & people photographers in the world - he is also known for his willingness to put facts and background information on the business on the table with an incomparable openness.
For the first time in Zingst on May 26th, Guido Karp will "put all cards on the table" in the Kurhaus from 10 am-2pm: from the calculation, the correct assessment of your own daily rate to job acquisition, communication and presentation. This event is a must for everyone who earns "their bread" with photography - or who are just thinking about wanting to earn it.

Image processing workflow lecture 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.
"The photos are in the box - and now?"
" I try to take photos so precisely that the effort involved in editing becomes very manageable - after all, my real passion is taking photos and working on the computer ;-)
“The art” consists first of all in viewing or editing the "shot" material and then deciding how much processing a good picture really needs. For three hours I show and explain the tricks of my workflow.
This event is ideal for all those who have either not yet edited their photos or who have not yet found the ideal path to the perfect picture for themselves.
I promise: I will start from scratch: how do I load my pictures into Lightroom, how do I add keywords, how do I put the finishing touches on my picture ..... and as always with me in simple, clearly understandable language - so, that you understand the steps and can easily do them yourself at home.
And so that it is really easy to do it at home, I am giving all participants a three-month Creative Cloud photo subscription with unrestricted access to the latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop (we will send you the access code before the event, so that you can use what is shown in the workshop with your own photos on your own laptop (if, for whatever reason, you cannot do it yourself, we will of course also help you on site with the installation before the event. :) "

Photographers shoot Photographers

Anyone who knows me knows that I am extremely curious about photography and always looking for new photographic challenges. Of course, it also has a certain advantage to be “Guido Karp”, because I regularly get the finest of the fine for testing (to avoid misunderstandings: borrowed, not given.) At the last Photokina I switched to the medium format system from Fujifilm in love. I have now “done” Hasselblad and PhaseOne and of course they are all excellent devices. I just find it difficult to switch to a completely different user interface in a fast shoot after almost 20 years of Canon.
The basic handling of the Fuji GFX is very similar to my Canon - but with the unbelievable power of the medium format chip and the detail resolution.
Plus the “killer feature”: in addition to the RAW, the GFX saves a JPG in a “film format” of my choice. This enables me to output JPGs that have the charm and grace of, for example, the Fuji Velvia, which I love so much (a great slide film that has unfortunately not been produced for years). This feature really “flashed” me. The results are so great that I regularly hand out the JPGs to the customer directly after the shoot.
I would like to invite you to join me for a few hours and observe and learn my approach to so-called "connected portraits" - and, if you wish, have yourself photographed by me (included in the ticket price).
I will go out with my flash heads, light shapers and tripods and if the weather cooperates, I will then take photos on the beach (if it rains we will find a nice alternative :-)
Actually, I wanted to hold this event for free. Unfortunately, experience shows: people register for “free events” but don't come - it doesn't cost anything :-( That's why I just take a tenner, which I will donate to the Lucas Mantoani College Fund *.
As I said: Every ticket holder is photographed by me - and then receives his JPG via we-transfer. To avoid misunderstandings: this is not a princess-for-one-day event. There won't be a make-up artist or anything like that. This is about technology and having fun with photography.

Portfolio review with Guido Karp

Everyone knows the phrase “There is no second chance for a first impression”. The correct selection of the images as well as the chosen form of presentation can be decisive for whether you get a high-paying job or the TFP model wants to work with you. In a half-hour 1: 1 coaching in a cozy atmosphere, I would like to help you with my experience to make the right image selection for you and to find the most promising form of presentation.

Cover shoot with DSDS winner Marie Wegener
2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Assistant for one day: I am asked again and again how I approach a session with an artist. This is the first and possibly unique chance to accompany me on such a shoot.
The participants do not get the chance to accompany the complete workflow of such a session - selection of equipment, location, hair & make-up, shoot, selection of the pictures together with the artist - but also the chance to make their own - hopefully great ones - on my sets - to take world-exclusive photos (important: use only after express approval by the artist, this is no different with my photos).
In my almost 40-year career, this is the first time that I can make such an offer. The number of participants is strictly limited - and a repetition of the event is not planned - a "Zingst Exclusive" :-)

Explore the light - event
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Since I've been able to think photographically, I've been fascinated by the subject of light. Whether in a concert or a cover shoot - light plays a more elementary role for me than the camera.
Many, many years ago I lost a bet with the editor-in-chief of a large photo magazine and was “allowed” to build a complete studio light set with a budget of € 100 - lamps, tripods and light shapers included ;-)
This and many other sets - a wide variety of light shapers through to professional flash systems - are available for testing for this event - including an attractive model per light set.
Explore the lights is the ultimate chance to test the most diverse light forms for gripping portrait and people photography against each other in a direct comparison.
We are offering this opportunity at the festival for EUR 39.
At the beginning of the event I will show “how I would do it” on each light set, then the models and light set belong to you: fire free until the memory cards glow ;-)
It goes without saying that I am at the participants' side with help and advice during the entire time.
What to bring:
